Sidara companies are once again coming together to host a series of events focused on one of the most pressing challenges facing cities today – how to create more sustainable, resilient, and people centered places. The program will explore how the built environment can better support community wellbeing, respond to the impacts of climate change, and reduce carbon emissions.
As part of London Climate Action Week, sustainability experts from Currie & Brown, Perkins&Will, Introba, and TYLin will bring together clients, partners, and thought leaders from across the UK and internationally. Discussions will center on the practical steps needed to make assets such as healthcare estates and transport infrastructure more resilient, lower carbon, and more closely aligned with community needs. The program will also challenge whether the tools and approaches currently in use are sufficient to meet net zero targets by the middle of the century.
Taking place in the final week of June, Sidara’s BREEAM Outstanding London office will also host a wider series of climate‑focused events. These include the World Green Building Council’s annual leadership summit and the European Outdoor Conservation Association’s biodiversity event, both of which will explore how to accelerate sustainable practices that protect and restore natural environments.
London Climate Action Week brings together more than 45,000 participants across 700+ events, all with a shared ambition: to demonstrate how meaningful, measurable change can be delivered in one of the world’s most diverse and dynamic cities.
This program forms part of a broader calendar of climate and sustainability activity across Sidara. Later this year, experts from across the group will come together again during NYC Climate Week, continuing to share insights and solutions that help shape more sustainable urban environments.
Adam Mactavish, Director of Sustainability at Currie & Brown, commented:
“Sidara companies are deeply engaged in the energy transition and in shaping cities that not only reduce the impacts of climate change, but are also resilient to it. Our involvement in London Climate Action Week reflects a shared commitment to improving quality of life and protecting the planet, through collaboration, ambition, and systems thinking.
“Design and construction have the power to make an enormous difference in the fight against climate change, and we’re looking forward to sharing our thinking and learning from the very best in the industry.”
