Sustainability experts from across Sidara will be at 2024 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP29) in Baku, Azerbaijan, in November this year to discuss impactful and measurable ways of decarbonizing one of the planet’s biggest climate culprits – the built environment.
As a leading sponsor of the Global Alliance for Buildings and Construction’s (GlobalABC) Buildings and Cooling pavilion, our sustainability experts will use the platform to share evidence-based strategies to lower carbon emissions and slow the pace of climate change.
Together with C40 Cities, the Solar Impulse Foundation and more, Sidara will be hosting a panel discussion focusing on innovative tools and solutions to drive action towards a zero-emission, efficient construction sector and a climate-resilient built environment.
At Sidara, we are advocates for transformational change to safeguard our planet. Earlier this year, we hosed the World Green Building Council’s biannual summit at our London headquarters, while in September, we brought together leading minds from public and private sectors to discuss New York's path to a net-zero future at Climate Week NYC.
Our presence at this year’s conference marks the third consecutive year of support for the UN’s COP program, following our launch of the Sidara brand at COP28 in Dubai last year.
Balsam Nehme, Chair of Sidara’s Sustainability Council, said: “We all have a moral duty to limit the impact of global warming, but the window of opportunity is steadily closing.”
“At the very heart of the initiative is the urgent need to decarbonize one of the most challenging sectors – buildings and infrastructure. We look forward to using the platform of COP29 to showcase our thinking, tools and solutions, and to align with industry partners as we work towards a greener, healthier, and more prosperous tomorrow.”
