As the built environment faces growing pressure to respond to climate change, the need for buildings, infrastructure, systems, and cities that are resilient, efficient, and adaptable remains a pressing priority. This week, Sidara joins World Green Building Week 2026 in support of #BuildItReady, a global campaign led by the World Green Building Council (WorldGBC) that calls for the accelerated delivery of future-ready buildings and communities.

“Climate change is no longer a concern for tomorrow. The future needs buildings that are ready today.”

That's the premise behind #BuildItReady, and it's one Sidara stands behind. 

Held from 7 to 11 September, World Green Building Council's (WorldGBC) flagship campaign returns for its 18th year, as the world's largest campaign dedicated to the sustainable built environment. Led by WorldGBC's global network of Green Building Councils, the campaign convenes industry leaders and experts from across the built environment to exchange ideas and accelerate progress, addressing topics from circular construction to renewable energy, to female leadership, policies and adaptation strategies.

As WorldGBC's global partner, Africa Regional Partner, and MENA Knowledge Partner, Sidara holds seats on boards and technical committees with Green Building Councils across multiple locations. Through the Council, Sidara has also pledged to reach net zero across its operations by 2030, addressing emissions from owned and leased offices through efficiency measures, clean energy and, where needed, carbon offsets. Alongside the Women's Empowerment Principles, it’s one of the commitments that anchors how Sidara reports on sustainability today.
